The Permanent Representative of Portugal to NATO, Ambassador Luís de Almeida Sampaio, together with the Permanent Representative of France to the Alliance, Ambassador Hélène Duchêne, and the Deputy Permanent Representative of Hungary, Marosfi Gábor, integrated a panel discussion with a group of Algerian MPs.

The discussion focused on common security and defense challenges and highlighted the need to foster greater cooperation between the country and the Alliance as a guarantee of a coordinated response to the main concerns.

Ambassador Luís de Almeida Sampaio, drawing on his experience as Ambassador of Portugal in Algiers between 2004 and 2008, reinforced that it is in the interest of the Alliance to maintain a stable and secure Algeria, and that Portugal is one of the Allies committed to foster the cooperation with the country.
