The second conference of the NATO Center for Geospatial, Meteorological and Oceanographic Excellence (MGEOMETOC), aiming to create the center, will take place between the 11th and 13th of February, at the Hydrographic Institute, in Lisbon.

The objective of MGEOMETOC is to be recognized internationally as a center of excellence, which contributes to the development and operationalization of GEOMETOC capabilities in the Alliance. Collaboration between NATO and other international organizations, within the context of international partnerships, also contributes to the Alliance's transformation effort in this field.

Portugal is committed to establishing MGEOMETOC, which will be located at the Hydrographic Institute, a national state laboratory and a recognized centre of excellence, for the past 60 years.
