The Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Rose Gottemoeller, visits Portugal on the 28th February and 1st March 2019. The program of the first day included the participation in a conference promoted by the Portuguese Catholic University on the future of the Alliance, chaired by the Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaime Gama, and with interventions by the academic João Carlos Espada and the Member of Parliament Júlio Miranda Calha.

High-level meetings are being held today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of National Defence and Members of the National Defence Parliamentary Committee. Under discussion, there will be topics such as the preparation of upcoming NATO high level meetings, global security challenges and NATO-EU relations, among others.

Rose Gottemoeller will also visit the Naval Striking and Support Forces, a NATO Communications and Information Agency and the Joint Analysis And Lessons Learned Centre.
